DD Movie Club TV Channel
On 7th April, 1995, Doordarshan Launched its movie channel, DD Movie club, two days before Zee's Hindi Movie Channel Zee Cinema. With the launch of This Channel, Doordarshan targeted Hind Movie Channel Space, and it was India's First Movie Channel.
The channel was launched by DD at three days notice, so channel suffered a lot from glitches on its transmission. The channel was not available terrestrially and only available on cable and satellites. The channel was using PAS-4 Satellite along with DD International. The Channel was aimed to deliver feature films in Hindi, regional languages and English. It also aired Some B-Grade English movies at 11PM.
DD MovieClub also aired Kashmiri News during a break, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. which was very strange experience for the viewers. The channel's picture quality of the channel was not good, and it kept running arty movies like Woh Chokri, Garam Hawa, Tarpan, Rudali which lead channels downfall. Later DD approached Dhirubhai Shah of Time Video, the supplier of films to ATN, for new films.
By November 1996, DD realised that "its really very hard to run two revenue less channels separately", and merged DD Movie Club with its another flop channel DD3. The merger channel was known as DD3-Movie Club : As a two-in-one channel. which was closed on January 1998. Later Doordarshan launched its DD Sports channel at the place of DD3-Movie Club.

DD CNNi TV Channel
The 24-hour current affairs channel DD CNNi Launched on 30th June, 1995 facilitated by an agreement with Turner International entered into by Doordarshan, the former paying an annual fee of US $1.5 million to Doordarshan for the use of its transponder and both sharing the commercial revenue.
As per special two-year agreement with the Atlanta-based Cable News Network (CNN), Doordarshan and CNN were allowed to have access to each other's footage. Doordarshan was utilising only the part of the four-hour window on the DD-CNNI channel and CNN has not yet been given time on the terrestrial channel for any of their programmes. The tenure of the agreement was two years and it was aimed to bring the outside world into Indian territory. Although was a welcome move for a country starved of global exposure, but the new channel had a disconcerting habit of switching gears. One moment you were watching a dreary propaganda film about the Indian Government's earth-shaking success in animal husbandry; the next minute, you were suddenly transported into the thick of the war in Bosnia. This nature of news reporting lead to the downfall of the channel.
The channel filed to generate viewership and revenue as well, and as per agreement, on 31st May, 1997 the channel was shut down. Later CNN joined hands of TV18 with 10 Year agreement and launched CNN-IBN News channel in 2005. After 10 years, they renewed their agreement and renamed this channel to CNN News 18. On the other hand, Doordarshan Launched its DD News Channel on 15th Aug, 1999, which was failed to generate viewership and later converted to DD Bharati on 26th January 2001. Later Doordarshan again launched DD News by replacing DD Metro on 3rd October 2003. This time DD News got success as it scored No.2 on TRP Ratings just after 2 weeks of its launch.
